We finally got some decent rain here over the last week—and my plants are loving it. I’ve got them all lined up outside, catching every glorious drop. (Honestly, the best beautiful fresh watering a plant could ask for.)
But let's be honest - The rain was great for my plants… less so for my motivation.
But then a Notion creator I follow (@KalynBrooke) mentioned how the gloomy spring weather over there has been dragging on and she created a lovely list of things she does on rainy days to keep her inspired.. So now her email has inspired me to make my own version of her “Rainy Day Survival Guide”—but for plant people, of course!
So here’s my cozy little list. Hope it sparks a few ideas for your next grey-sky day 🌧✨
Rainy Day Survival Guide – Plant Parent Edition! 🌿
✔️ Put all your plants outside for a rain shower
✔️ Wipe down your leaves (they’ll thank you)
✔️ Use a Pomodoro timer to get yourself moving. Even just a little...
✔️ Rearrange your plants… again
✔️ Make a cup of tea and inspect for new growth
✔️ Curl up with cocoa, a fuzzy blanket… and a page from my plant puzzle book!
✔️ Dream about making sourdough (I still haven’t bought the kit, but here’s the one I keep eyeing )
✔️ Listen to your fav planty podcast or YT (I hear Leafy Lovin is good? 😂)
✔️ Start that plant journal you’ve been meaning to
✔️ Take a photo of your gloomiest leaf and give it a pep talk
✔️ Read something gently inspiring or motivating (personally im currently loving Feel-Good Productivity by Ali Abdaal)
✔️ Do a propagation check! Or sneak a peek in the box...
✔️ Light a candle and put on lo-fi—rain + reverb = yes please
If you end up trying any of these—especially the puzzle books or the sourdough—I’d love to hear about it. I’ve got the kettle on and a propagation box to peek into, so I’m very available for cozy planty things right now. 😂
Stay warm, stay green 🍃
