Need Some Winter Comfort? I’ve Got You

Hey there Reader

I’ve been watching all the cold-weather things pop up in my feed lately. Pumpkin lattes, wool socks, the “cozy girl” aesthetic, that sudden shift where every recipe includes cinnamon. Meanwhile I’m in Sydney sweating with my alocasias.

It’s such a weird feeling to watch the seasons on the internet do the complete opposite of my actual life.

But it did get me thinking of your colder days ahead....

Shorter light. Heaters turning on. Plants slowing down. Families getting busier with holiday plans. Winter has this funny mix of chaos and comfort. And honestly, it’s the perfect time to build little rituals that make your home feel warm and grounded while the world outside gets colder.

So I made you a Cozy Winter List!❄️🧦 Think of it like a gentle guide for making the season feel softer, calmer, and a whole lot more enjoyable. 😊

1. Build yourself a winter book nook
Pick a comfy corner, add a blanket, a warm drink, and a plant or two under a soft grow light. A tiny escape that feels like its own universe.
If you want a rec: Feel Good Productivity by Ali Abdaal
is a great way to set yourself up for a strong 2026.

2. Make a “slow morning” drink ritual
Choose one drink that becomes your winter signature. Cinnamon oat latte, ginger tea with honey, peppermint hot chocolate.
Something warm you look forward to when it’s still dark at 7am.

3. Host a cookie or muffin swap
Everyone brings a batch of their favourite baked thing and goes home with a mixed box of treats. Add some savoury bits so the sugar doesn’t wipe you out. Wrap everything in ribbon because why not.

4. A journaling moment
Winter is the best time to go inward.
Grab a fresh notebook and write a few gentle prompts:
“What do I want more of next season?”
“What made this year feel good?”
No pressure. Just reflection.

5. Board game and wine night
Taboo, Heads Up, Hedbanz, Mexican Train Dominoes.
Or a puzzle book with a glass of something nice.
Cozy competitive energy is elite.

6. Build a blanket fort (no kids required)
Cushions. Blankets. Fairy lights.
Maybe a plant guarding the entrance like a leafy bouncer.
It shouldn’t make sense, but it absolutely does.

7. Bring in a few foraged winter branches
A bare twig, eucalyptus stem, or textured branch.
Use it as a natural plant stake and wind a pothos around it for instant winter magic.

8. Have a “soft light only” night
Turn off the overheads.
Lamps, candles, fairy lights only.
It slows everything down and makes winter evenings feel gentle instead of gloomy.

9. A cozy movie marathon
Your comfort classics:
Indiana Jones, Die Hard (yes, it is a Christmas movie), Harry Potter, Bridget Jones, The Matrix.
Or go full TV rewatch with Bull, The Blacklist, or Breaking Bad.

10. Make a winter comfort basket
Fill a cute basket with pure joy: a book, fuzzy socks, lip balm, tea, a face mask, a tiny plant clipper…
and a tablet loaded with Leafy Lovin so you can catch up on any of my 70 videos you’ve missed. 😉
