Hey there Reader
The truth about low-light plants (it’s not what you think).
Let’s be real. Winter can be tough.
Shorter days, too many layers, dry skin, zero motivation to go outside… honestly, it’s a lot.
And the second that first hint of sunshine hits? We’re desperate for longer brighter sunnier days, warmth, fresh air, and maybe a cocktail by the pool (or five? I’m there!) 🍹🌞
Well… so do your plants .
I hate to break it to you, but when plant shops say, “This plant does great in low light!” … they’re not telling you the full story.
Here’s the truth: No plant likes low light.
Even the ones labeled as “low-light plants” still need decent light to actually grow—otherwise, they’re just barely hanging on. There surviving but perhaps not thriving,
And if you’ve ever wondered why your so-called “low-light” plant:
- Grows slower than a Monday morning
- Stretches awkwardly toward the nearest window
- Drops leaves like it’s throwing a tantrum
If that sounds familiar… your plant’s in survival mode.
Here’s the truth:
💡 More light = more energy = more growth.
Now, does that mean you should stick a lower light Peace Lily in direct sun? Nope. But if you want your plants to thrive instead of just exist, they need better light than most people think.
